What does Trinity’s Health Ministry do?

  • Identifies the health ministry needs of individuals, families, and the congregation.
  • Provides opportunities for participation in health and wellness screenings, education, and activities.
  • Promotes safety by maintaining first aid kits, the AED, and hosting CPR classes.
  • Supports a volunteer parish nursing program.

Meet Trinity’s Volunteer Parish Nurses

Karen Hernes

Karen has been a member of Trinity for four years since relocating back to Indiana with her husband Matt and children Chrystal and Valerie. After working in hospitals for over 10 years, she completed her master’s degree and now teaches nursing at Purdue North Central. Karen is passionate about caring for the whole person and educating others about self-care.

Nan Paarlberg

Nan has been a member of Trinity for the past five years along with husband Terry. She worked for 20 years in the neonatal intensive care unit and currently works in home health care for children with special needs. The thought of parish nursing makes her really excited an she is thrilled to merge her career, Stephen Ministry, and spiritual healing to complete her life, being able to serve others in all areas of life.
