Biography: Rev. Dr. Timothy Andrew Leitzke

The Rev. Dr. Timothy Andrew Leitzke has been an ordained Minister of Word and Sacrament in the ELCA since 2005. Prior to his arrival at Trinity Lutheran Church in Valparaiso, he served as Pastor at Tree of Life Lutheran Church in Odessa, Delaware, and as Dean of the Delmarva Conference in the DE-MD Synod. Prior to that, he served as Assistant Pastor at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Manasquan, New Jersey, choir director at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cordova, Maryland, and as a supply pastor on the Delmarva Peninsula. He has served on the DE-MD Synod Worship Team, contributed articles and reviews to publications such as Liturgy, Currents in Theology and Mission, and Lutheran Quarterly, and is a member of the North American Academy of Liturgy. Pastor Tim holds a Ph.D. in Public Theology from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia, an M.Div. from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, and a BA in History and Philosophy from Roanoke College.

Pastor Tim and his wife, Rev. Emily Hollars Leitzke, met in seminary. Together they have two daughters, Audrey Victoria (age 5) and Jane Elizabeth (age 3). When not attending to princesses and dragons and witches (as often happens in the Leitzke house), Pastor Tim obsesses over The Simpsons, rock and roll, science fiction, and ice hockey.
