The Faith in Action team builds the raised bed for our summer garden. Produce will be donated to the Christian Food Pantry.

Over the past six months Trinity shepherds have been contacting their sheep through phone, text, email or snail mail. On Good Shepherd Sunday, April 25, you will get to see your shepherd if you worship at Trinity on YouTube. Perhaps you already have met your shepherd before pandemic, but if not, this is an opportunity to get a picture of them before we return to in person worship. We are thankful for this ministry of connection at Trinity and hope you will remember these folks in your prayers.

Cleanup Day

Thanks to all who came out on Saturday, April 17th, for the Clean Up Day. The landscaping was weeded, leaves raked, window wells and parking lot grates cleaned out. Twelve bags of refuse were taken to the compost site.

WE NEED HELP! Interested?
Hello fellow members!
You hopefully have heard by this time that Trinity is returning to in-person worship on May 23rd. This is planned as a more-or-less permanent move. Right now we need volunteers to make this return a smooth event, as well as all the subsequent services after that.
Right now we need about 16 people to conduct a service besides Pastor Tim and Szu-Ping. They consist of the following:
Assisting Minister (assists the pastor in performing the service, prays the intercessionary prayer and post-Communion prayer)
Acolyte (carries the cross for the entrance and exit, holds book for Pastor, supplies wine & bread as needed during communion)
Lector (reads the lessons)
Children’s time leader (leads the Children’s Time)
Communion Assistants (assist in communion distribution)
Ushers  (collect offering, assist people in seating,)
Greeters (stationed by the entry door to greet people as they arrive at service)
Altar Guild (set up and take down Communion serveware, clean all the serveware)
Bread baker (bakes and delivers Communion bread).

This will NOT be a forever thing, but so far no one has decided on a length of time for an assignment.
Training will be provided for these positions.
Think about it. It’s a way to serve the church and the congregation, and it can be a whole lot of fun besides.

FIA Garden Mission
The Faith in Action team is creating a raised bed garden at TLC in order to donate fresh produce to the Christian Food Pantry. The FIA team will maintain the garden near our front walkway with direction from garden advisors Szu-ping Chang Wong and Katie Carr. If our experiment works, we will make the garden an annual outreach. All Trinity members are invited to stop by and pull up a few weeds as our garden grows this summer. Look for more details in May.

Men’s Bible Study Is Back
Beginning May 1st, Men’s Bible Study will be back from 9-10:30am in Fellowship Hall. This will take place on the first Saturday of every month.




Trinity Groups/Teams/Committees
Meeting in Church Building
With vaccines available and being administered and with virus infections going down, if Trinity small groups or teams or committees would like to use the church building for meetings, it has been approved as long as the following guidelines and protocols are followed.
●    Contact Abby at the Church Office to advise of date, time and location of the meeting, so it can be added to the Parish Calendar. **Please note that all day Tuesdays and Saturday mornings should be avoided as Trinity staff record the online worship at those times**
●    The leader or chair for the meeting should maintain an attendance record for purposes of contact tracing, if needed.
●    All attendees are required to wear masks at all times in the building.
●    All attendees should maintain at least 6 feet social distancing.
●    Wash hands and/or use hand sanitizer as needed. **Reminder that the current protocol is one person in a restroom at a time.**
●    As it has become clear during this pandemic, the virus is almost exclusively spread through the air. So as long as all attending the meeting follow all the previous protocols and avoid touching their faces without washing hands or using hand sanitizer, then washing down tables is not necessary.
●    If all participants in a meeting have received their full course of vaccination, masks and social distancing are not necessarily required, but if there is any doubt, err on the side of caution: mask and distance.

Make an impact during this pandemic! Gather supplies for Personal Care Kits. 
I know that this past year has been a struggle in many ways, but I must admit that I still feel very blessed. I have a home, utilities, clean water, good friends and family. I can only imagine how difficult it must be for families who have been affected by natural disasters, war, famine, etc. I would like to ask if you could help make a difference for families in need around the world? Lutheran World Relief has ongoing efforts to supply families with needed items: quilts, school kits, fabric kits, baby kits, and personal care kits. I would like to gather supplies for Personal Care Kits. I think we can make a difference for good even during a worldwide pandemic. Will you join me? I have copied the important information below. Please note the importance of light-weight, dark-colored towels. Let me know that you want to help make a difference, too! 
PERSONAL CARE KITS – SOME IMPORTANT GUIDELINES TO REMEMBER • Be sure to shop for light- or medium-weight towels, which are easier for Kit recipients to hand wash and air dry, take up less storage space and are considerably less expensive than the fluffier towels we may prefer to use. 
• Bath towels vary in size. The 52” X 27” size listed in the guidelines is the maximum size. 20” x 40” is a good guideline for a minimum size. 
• Please give new items only. 
• Please do not donate items with any religious symbols, messages or your group’s name. • Please do not donate any items decorated with a U.S. flag, patriotic or military symbols, or references to the armed forces, including camouflage. 
• Do not add other items or leave out any of the items listed. 
• All items should be new and in good condition. 
• Do not enclose the Kit or any of its contents in plastic bags. 
● ONE light-weight bath-size towel (between 20” x 40” and 52” x 27”), dark color recommended 
● TWO or three bath-size bars of soap equaling 8 to 9 oz., any brand, in original wrapping ● ONE adult-size toothbrush in its original packaging* 
● ONE sturdy comb, remove packaging 
● ONE metal nail clippers (attached file optional), remove packaging 

* Toothbrush multi-packs may be used by sealing an individual toothbrush in a business-size envelope; no plastic bags or wrap

March Pantry Report

The serving plan is still in the ‘cautious’ mode at the pantry and volunteers are still surprised that the number of clients served monthly still stays ‘low’ with 168 families assisted which gives food to 382 people.  Easter dinner menu items were shared with 68 families.  A choice of a ham or turkey was well received and it was fortunate that the weather was appropriate for the items to be distributed outside – another safe service plan for all concerned.    (Thanks to The Shop managers arranging their area in such a way that it made the pantry ‘set-up’ easy to do.)  It was a neat surprise that 172 more holiday bags were received from Strack and Van Till’s store on Calumet! Some of the $6,300+ in coupons from the Meijer assisting program was used to buy items for the Easter giving with more coupons available for the perishable items so greatly appreciated by pantry families.  Another ‘program’ is going on now.  Any kind of extra donations/money make it assured that items needed for any project can be purchased at any time.  Donations of ‘basic foods’ (cereal, tuna in water, baked beans, bathroom tissue for example) are also a continuous need.  The community has been very generous with ‘donation- help’ during this pandemic situation.  The situation is ready for giving more assistance to families in our ‘neighborhood’ in need of pantry help.  Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
